    Policy Associate

    This organization works to improve public education through inspiration and influence across policies and practices. The Policy Associate will work with the Assistant Director and the Program team to support high quality professional learning. This position will be responsible for project planning support for the policy work, including Congressional networks. He or she will also manage communication with Congressional network participants and researchers.. The Policy Associate will report to the Assistant Director of Policy.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Research quality, aligned materials and resources for content.

    • Develop high quality briefing books.

    • Develop convening agendas and supporting materials.

    • Support overall project planning process.

    • Execute project deadlines, event support, external and internal relationships.

    • Find and identify relevant content to keep program staff up to date.

    • Facilitate strong communication between Practice, Policy and operations teams.

    • Create strong first-drafts of content.

    • Support fundraising and grant making activities.

     

    Skills & Experience Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

    • At least 3 years working in education policy or related role.

    • Committed to increased mobility from poverty and improving outcomes in public education.

    • Adept project management skills.

    • Strong research and analysis skills.

    • Dedicated to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

    • Travel up to 20% of the time.


    Response to COVID-19:

    We currently have all staff working remotely and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future (and at least through the end of 2020). As of now, there is no exact timeline for when people will be back in the office. However, once it is safe, this work will need to be led from our offices due to the direct engagement with stakeholders.
