    Work Schedule / Remote Policy

    This position is primarily onsite in Towson, MD. Limited remote work may be permitted based on project needs and performance:

    • Initially up to 1 day per week remote
    • Potential to increase to 2 days per week after 3–6 months (not guaranteed)

    Position Overview

    • The Workday Application Developer will support the implementation and ongoing administration of Workday HCM and Financial systems. This role involves developing integrations, configuring business processes, building reports, and providing production support to ensure system reliability, performance, and alignment with business requirements.
    • The candidate will work closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams in a collaborative environment supporting critical county operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Development & Configuration

    • Design, develop, test, and deploy Workday integrations using EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs).
    • Configure and maintain business processes, calculated fields, custom validations, and condition rules.
    • Develop and maintain Workday custom and advanced reports.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues.

    Integration Management

    • Build and support integrations between Workday and third-party systems (HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, etc.).
    • Monitor scheduled integrations and resolve failures or data inconsistencies.
    • Document integration designs, configurations, and data flows.
    • Optimize integrations for performance, scalability, and reliability.

    Reporting & Analytics

    • Develop and maintain Workday reports and dashboards to support operational and compliance needs.
    • Gather reporting requirements from business users and translate them into Workday solutions.
    • Automate report scheduling and distribution.

    Support & Collaboration

    • Provide technical support to agency and end users.
    • Maintain system documentation, including configuration guides, workflows, and design specifications.
    • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders to align Workday functionality with business processes.
    • Participate in change control and configuration management activities.
    • Gather and document business requirements for break/fix issues and enhancement requests.

    Minimum Qualifications (All Required)

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum 2 years (preferred 5 years) of experience supporting or administering enterprise systems such as Workday HCM, Payroll, Financials, Reporting, or Web Services.
    • Demonstrated hands-on Workday experience.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Solid understanding of business processes, with the ability to analyze and improve workflows.
    • Proven experience supporting HCM, Payroll, and Financial systems.
    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
    • Ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive data.
    • Ability to work onsite during normal business hours (Monday–Friday) in Towson, MD.
    • Ability to provide at least two professional references where similar services were performed.
    • Ability to pass a comprehensive security background check.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience serving as a primary technical resource during Workday implementations or post-production support.
    • Workday certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
