Workers' Compensation Associate (Attorney)
Location: Columbia, SC (in-office — no remote work option)
Firm Type: Established, well-regarded, high-quality plaintiff's workers' compensation and personal injury firm
Practice Area: Statewide workers' compensation, based out of the Columbia office
About the Role
We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Associate to join a respected plaintiff's-side firm with a statewide practice. You will handle workers' compensation cases from intake through settlement, hearing, or appeal — owning your files and your clients from day one.
This isn't a seat-filling job. We're a small, high-performing firm, and we need someone who wants to build a real practice, not punch a clock.
What You'll Do
- Acquire and manage workers' compensation cases from initial intake through resolution — settlement, hearing, or appeal
- Represent injured workers across South Carolina, working out of the Columbia office
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, medical providers, and referral sources
- Develop and originate your own case load in addition to firm-assigned matters
- Present as a consummate professional in every client interaction, hearing, and negotiation
Who You Are
- 1–5 years of experience in workers' compensation or personal injury litigation preferred
- Local to the Columbia/Midlands area, with established community ties and connections preferred
- Smart, charismatic, and kind — someone clients trust and want on their side
- Willing to work hard and put in the effort a growing practice requires
- Fearless in advocating for clients, and confident enough to build a book of business
- Genuinely motivated by doing right by clients — understanding that if you do the work well, the results (and the money) follow
- Professional in appearance and presence — business attire is expected daily; you need to look like the professional you are
This is not the role for drones, worker bees, losers, failures, cowards, sell-outs, or slackers. We're looking for a baller who wants to build something.
