Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year

Note: This position requires employees to be on-site four days per week at our client's Rockville (Shady Grove), MD office, with one day of remote flexibility, subject to hearing schedules.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have an active Maryland law license and 2+ years of experience handling workers' compensation cases.

Job Description

• Handle workers' compensation cases from intake through resolution
• Represent clients before the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission
• Conduct hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
• Provide legal counsel and develop tailored case strategies
• Maintain strong client communication and deliver effective advocacy
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure excellent case management

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Maryland (required)
• 2+ years of experience in Maryland workers' compensation law, including hearings before the Commission
• Strong oral advocacy, negotiation, and legal writing skills
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and stay organized
• Commitment to client service and professional integrity
