Workers’ Compensation Discovery Paralegal
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responding to discovery requests, including drafting objections and creating privilege logs
- Drafting outgoing supplemental discovery requests and tracking responses
- Creating and updating timelines/chronologies from medical records
- Requesting medical records and tracking responses
- Drafting correspondence to clients and opposing parties
- E-filing documents through the eJCC portal, including Petitions for Benefits
- Preparing and editing ‘merge’ forms from case management software, including motions
- Calculating the average weekly wage from wage records
- Compiling and preparing exhibit lists for trial
Skills Required:
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF editing software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Kofax)
- Must have working knowledge of 60Q rules of procedure for workers' compensation claims and Florida Rules of Civil Procedure related to discovery
- Must have experience tracking billable hours contemporaneously with work performed
- Must be well organized and self-motivated
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Should have experience with Client Profiles/ATO practice management software

Job Type : Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Supplemental pay types: Bonus pay
Experience: Florida Workers' Compensation Law: 3+ years preferred, but not required
