We are seeking an experienced Hearing Representative to appear on behalf of our clients before the Santa Ana Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).

This is a specialized practice requiring familiarity with the unique medical, procedural, and evidentiary issues that arise in professional athlete WC claims, including cumulative trauma, multiple body parts, career earnings, and disputed industrial causation.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Appear virtually at Mandatory Settlement Conferences (MSCs) and Status Conferences (SCs) before the Santa Ana WCAB on behalf of injured applicants

Review case files, pleadings, and medical reports prior to hearings to ensure accurate representation of the applicant's position

Prepare Pre-Trial Conference Statements and ensure compliance with WCAB procedural requirements

Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and support staff regarding case status and strategy

Assist in moving cases toward resolution, including settlements and trial readiness

Monitor and calendar upcoming hearing dates and ensure timely filing of required documents

Maintain detailed and accurate case notes and updates in case management system

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years of experience appearing at the WCAB, preferably at Santa Ana; applicant-side experience strongly preferred

Solid working knowledge of California Labor Code and WCAB procedural rules

Experience handling virtual appearances and familiarity with EAMS

    Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Ability to independently manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently

Strong written and oral communication skills; professional demeanor in virtual proceedings

Familiarity with cumulative trauma claims strongly preferred

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience with professional athlete WC claims or high-value cumulative trauma cases

Knowledge of orthopedic and psychiatric components of cumulative trauma claims

Prior experience at Santa Ana WCAB is a plus
