The Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant role is to provide consistent support to the Workers’ Compensation Attorneys and Paralegals to prevent case stagnation, evaluate claim value, collect medical records, and maintain the files. Responsibilities: • Set up a claim and send a Letter of Representation • Verify coverage on E-case and set up a claim with the Insurance Company • Subpoena providers for Medical Records, follow up on receiving them • Accurately log all subpoena expenses in the Expense Tab and Tradeshift • Subpoena Employee Personnel File, follow up on receiving them • Schedule depositions and mediations, calendar hearings • Send appropriate scheduling notices to the client • Provide as-needed support to WC Paralegals and Attorneys • Answer roll-over calls on the WC Paralegal ring group and route calls to the proper Paralegal or Attorney if unable to assist Qualifications: This is an entry-level position in our Workers' Compensation Department. The ideal candidate will have fantastic attention to detail and excel in data entry. They may have direct Workers' Compensation experience, though it is not required. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree • Knowledge of workers’ compensation (WC) procedures and insurance claim processes (preferred) • Ability to verify insurance coverage through platforms such as E-case or similar systems • Skilled in preparing, issuing, and tracking subpoenas for medical and employment records Required Qualifications: • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately log and reconcile expenses in case management systems • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing client notices and correspondence • Excellent calendar organization and ability to correctly calendar all proceedings and deadlines • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and in compliance with legal standards • Strong multitasking and time-management skills to prioritize competing deadlines • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software Compensation: $40,000 - $44,000
