The Workflow Enablement Specialist is responsible for training radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff on the effective use of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and associated worklist and dictation platform. This role falls under the Information Technology (IT) Department and ensures end users understand workflow, functionality, image access, and diagnostic tools within the radiology workflow environment, improving system adoption, efficiency, and patient care quality.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, deliver, and evaluate radiology workflow training programs for radiologists, physicians, fellows, medical students, and radiologic technologists.
Create display protocols for radiologists within Intelerad PACS and McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS
Provide one-on-one and group training sessions both in-person and virtually, as needed, primarily with McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS, Intelerad PACS, PowerScribe 360, Rad AI, and Clario Worklist/Intelerad Orchestrator. This also includes other workflow tools such as Microsoft Teams and xMatters.
Customize training based on specialty-specific workflows (e.g., neuro, MSK, body imaging).
Assist in onboarding new radiologists and clinical staff with PACS, worklist, and dictation access and training.
Assist in creating training materials such as quick reference guides, videos, FAQs, and job aids.
Conduct workflow assessments to identify inefficiencies and recommend workflow optimizations.
Stay up to date on clinical software updates, new features, and best practices to ensure training reflects the current system environment.
Support hospital go-lives, system upgrades, and other transitions involving clinical applications.
Act as a liaison between radiologists, IT, and the clinical application vendors to communicate user feedback and workflow concerns.
Troubleshoot basic clinical application user issues and escalate complex problems to appropriate IT support teams or vendors.
Resolve user-submitted IT tickets regarding front end application issues and requests
Follow up with newly onboarded radiologists at 1, 3, and 6 months to address ongoing workflow issues.
Track radiologist onboarding progress, issue resolution, adoption of templates/protocols, and workflow efficiency improvements.
Assist in mammography and ultrasound protocoling and technologist workflows
Work with physicists on site credentialing for ACR and MQSA
Procedure code mapping for modalities/hospital ordering systems
User account creation within clinical systems, and test user profiles for radiologists
Attend daily IT meetings to provide updates and be aware of changes occurring within our systems
Required Qualifications:
ARRT registration
Associate’s degree (or higher) in healthcare, radiologic sciences, informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 2 years of experience working with PACS/RIS systems in a clinical or imaging IT setting.
Prior experience training medical professionals, ideally in a radiology or imaging environment.
Strong understanding of radiology workflows and image interpretation practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency with PACS systems, radiology worklist systems, and/or dictation systems.
Current driver’s license and ability to drive.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a radiologic technologist, PACS analyst, or radiology IT trainer.
Knowledge of HL7, DICOM, and/or imaging modality workflows.
Experience in an advanced modality, such as mammography or ultrasound.
Working Conditions:
May require occasional evening or weekend hours during system upgrades or hospital go-lives; may, on rare occasions, train a radiologist after hours
Some travel between facilities may be required.
Will primarily work remotely, but will travel to office, clinical, or training environments as needed.
