    Job Description

    We are searching for a Research Associate/Associate Scientist (level based on experience) to join our client's Cell Biology group within the Research department. The Cell Biology group is responsible for biological testing and characterization of cell therapy products in the pipeline. In this lab-based role, you will support an experienced cross-functional team spanning all phases of drug development including discovery, target validation, lead ID / optimization and related translational studies. You will employ a variety of cell-based techniques to understand the mechanism of action of drugs in the pipeline as well as to push the boundaries of new cell therapy technologies. You will use your expertise in cell biology /immunology to design and conduct laboratory experiments, develop methodology, and generate and interpret scientific data in a highly collaborative environment.

    Main Accountabilities

    • Flow cytometry acquisition and analysis to evaluate antigen expression and protein binding
    • Handle, isolate and manipulate primary human immune cells (e.g. PBMC, BMMC, T cells and monocytes) and other cultured cell lines
    • Execute ELISAs (commercial kits and custom assays) to measure cytokines, proteins and/or other biomarkers
    • Conduct complex immune assays including in vitro cell-based assays (e.g. cytotoxicity, proliferation, degranulation), multiplex assays (e.g. MSD) and live cell analysis (e.g. Incucyte)
    • Process blood and tissues from animal studies for analysis
    • Utilize common software including GraphPad Prism, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Flow Cytometry Analysis Software (FlowJo) to analyze, record and present your results
    • Communicate detailed observations on experiments and assist in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols
    • Work both independently and collaboratively, and effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion for yourself and potentially direct reports
    • Assist in maintaining laboratory consumables

    Preferred Qualifications

    • B.S. degree with 2+ or M.S. degree with 0+ years of relevant laboratory experience (job level to be adjusted based on prior experience)
    • Familiarity with one or more of the following areas: Cell therapy, T-cell biology, solid tumor immunology or the use of biologics in anti-cancer therapy
    • Ability and desire to multitask and collaborate across multiple projects in a fast-paced cross-functional environment
