Our client is a newly launched state-of-the-art contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in best-in-class lentiviral vectors. Founded by a pioneer in the gene therapy field with a veteran leadership team, the company is poised to for success as they build out their end-to-end platform for vector development and production.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sales and BD Director / Senior Director to join our growing team. Responsibilities include developing and executing sales and BD strategies that align with our business goals and our target customer segments. You will managing the sales pipeline process from lead generation through negotiating and closing new clients. The ideal candidate will have a background in gene and cell therapy and a strong understanding of the biotechnology industry.
Responsibilities:
- Learn the company's vector development and production platform and how to position the company competitively in the market to identify and engage new prospects.
- Develop and deliver sales presentations and training materials
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
- Identifying and qualifying new prospects, developing relationships with key decision-makers, and negotiating and closing new client contracts.
- Guide the company's marketing and lead generation strategies.
- Maintaining relationships with important clients by making regular visits, understanding their needs, and anticipating new marketing opportunities
- Staying current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks.
- Collaborate with leadership to provide regular market feedback, product positioning and business updates to achieving sales goals.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 10+ years of experience in sales, within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Strong understanding of the cell and gene therapy market
- Proven track record of success in nurturing and closing new clients
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team
