  • Responsibilities

    Our client, a growth-stage biotech company in Maryland is hiring a key member for their development team.  Reporting to the Director of Technical Operations, the Scientist will be responsible for performing a diverse range of analytical methods to test all the unique proteins in development. Additionally, the Scientist will perform general laboratory duties in support of other research & development work streams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform analytical testing and data review for lot release and stability according to written procedures

    • The R&D Analytical scientist will use a variety of instrumentation and methods of analysis including, but not limited to SDS-PAGE, HPLC, A280 analysis, HCP/DNA analysis, Octet, cIEF, and Western blot

    • Author, revise and/or review SOPs, protocols, reports and other relevant documentation

    • Participate in analytical method development, method qualification and technical transfer activities

    • Maintain laboratory and equipment in accordance with written procedures

    • Perform analytical quality investigations, as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • PhD with a minimum of two 2 years of relevant experience required, or MS degree with 5+

    Competencies

    • Working independently with minimal instruction and a good problem solver

    • Providing technical help and troubleshooting for existing laboratory processes and instrumentation

    • Assisting in the installation and validation of new equipment and analytical tools and training new and existing personnel on equipment and procedures

    • Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced work environment

    • Effective collaboration skills with other team members to deliver results

    • Detail oriented, good documentation practices, technical writing, and presentation skills

    • Proficiency with electronic/digital platforms such as Electronic Lab Notebooks/LIMS, SharePoint, MS Office
