    Our client is a growing biotechnology company in Montgomery County Maryland. Having launched in 2020, they have built a portfolio from discovery to early clinical development by addressing key disease-driving mechanisms of neurodegeneration that allow for multiple and exciting treatment options for the various indications the company is developing therapies for including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other devastating CNS diseases.

     

    COMPANY OPERATION AND TEAM

    The company has established fully functional integrated R&D capabilities with two sites in Rockville, Maryland (US) and Shanghai (China) that are staffed with different domains of expertise in discovery biology, medicinal chemistry, DMPK/CMC, clinical science, and regulatory, high level of MNC management, and accumulative industrial experience.

    The company has already established itself as a recognized player in neurodegeneration. SciNeuro has formed collaborations with GSK, Eli Lilly, and numerous other innovative partners who provide the company with access to unique and differentiated technologies.     We are seeking a dynamic Office Manager/EA to CEO to lead, direct, and manage the day-to-day administrative activities for our Rockville site and US team, and to provide executive support to CEO and US-based executives. You will act as the first point of contact for administrative queries from employees, peer operational staff, and external partners. You will also handle employee- and facility-related services, regulatory compliance, and be a company cultural ambassador, among other tasks.

    Location: Maryland, USA (Onsite)

    Key responsibilities:

    • Providing administrative support to the CEO and executives.
    • Partnering with Operations to plan and manage administrative tasks and procedures, to align and integrate overarching corporate strategy.
    • Managing US operational budget and keeping track of expenditures.
    • Assisting in hiring personnel and HR operations in US.
    • Monitoring office supply inventory and placing orders.
    • Providing Accounts Payable and Procurement support for US company.
    • Organizing US employee activities to cultivate and promote company culture (Outing, Happy Hour, Science Day, etc).
    • Ensuring a seamless and efficient information flow within the organization to aid various business functions.
    • Playing as the Point of Contact for local facility services and maintenance.
    • Ensuring that policies and regulations are followed.
    • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of organizational and business structure and changes.

    Core Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, accounting degree preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance experience is required.
    • Experience with general ledger accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.
    • In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices, including US GAAP.
    • Ability to work across time zones, including China.
    • Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills, and a good listener.
    • Able to create a strong and successful relationship with others while promoting cross-cultural awareness.
    • Ability to multi-task and support individuals with diverse backgrounds and skills.
    • Must have strong attention to detail and a “can do” attitude.
    • Good planner, creative thinker, problem solver, agile learner, and team player.
    • Desired Additional Experience
    • Extensive experience in Big Pharma and/or in a start-up biotech environment, including working with external partners will be a plus.
    • QuickBooks/NetSuite experience preferred.
    • Team Leader experience will be a plus.
