    We are looking to hire for the position of Cytotech!

    The Cytology Technician, under the direction of the Cytology Department Manager, performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality, utilizing efficient and safe processes. Accessions, describes, and processes cytology specimens.

    Our firm provides Human Resources Support to a privately owned Pathology Group in Stockton, CA. Our job is to help our client recruit the right person for this job opening. Therefore, please note: This is NOT a temp agency, this is a direct hire, full-time and permanent position. You will work for the private Pathology Group. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    It is the role of the Cytology Technician to continuously interact with managers, supervisors and designees. The incumbent determines the need to consult with a pathologist, makes technical decisions, troubleshoots and resolves specimen receiving issues. The incumbent must have the basic knowledge of the full scope of general Cytology Technician duties in the laboratory (accessions cytology specimens: enters demographic and billing data, labels and verifies slides, processes non-gynecologic specimens following established procedures, including staining, cover slipping [occasionally by hand if instrument failure], and labeling, organizes slides and requisitions for pick-up, etc). As determined, shares receptionist and clerical coverage, works variable schedules and rotates at other work sites.

     EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE                                             

     AS, BS, or BA in biological sciences, medical terminology, and/or prior related work experience desirable.
