    POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Systems Engineer will work with clients to troubleshoot issues, build relationships, gather information about their IT infrastructure, and work with our Remote Support team to resolve issues. This position also responsible for administrative tasks such as filling out ticket notes and filling time sheets in a timely manner.  ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Responsible for onsite support for contract and on-call clients daily.
    2. Completes work orders such as installing equipment, connecting and moving devices or creating components of autonomous networks; installing disk drives; and correcting definitions on data switches, and protocol converters.
    3. Interfaces with 3rd parties to facilitate manufacturer warranty support.
    4. Records and submits weekly time sheets detailing client work throughout the week.
    5. Accurately updates tickets in ConnectWise.
    6. Monthly extended hours support responsibility.
    7. Attends ongoing onsite visits with clients to ensure technology is up to date.
    8. Builds relationships with clients they are responsible for in their territory.
    9. Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, installs and performs testing activities on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication and computer network systems.
    10. Works with the remote support department to help resolve client issues as they arise.
    11. Advises clients in a variety of IT best practices and concepts.
    12. Attends project handoff meetings for clients.
    13. Any other duties and tasks that are required by the Company.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    1. High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field preferred.
    2. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in IT with technical troubleshooting experience.
    3. Certifications in hardware or software repair, operating systems and networking.
    4. Two (2) to four (4) years in a customer facing role.

    OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

    1. Intermediate to advanced Windows OS knowledge, intermediate to advanced hardware repair knowledge, basic to intermediate networking knowledge.
    2. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Warm, approachable, friendly, confident, and empathetic personality traits are a must as this role must build trust.
    3. High degree of decision making skills required as this role requires being outside of the office away from direct supervision. 
    4. Excellent problem-solving skills required to troubleshoot potentially complex IT issues.
