THE CONTROLLER POSITION:

We are looking for a devoted and detail-oriented Controller who is excited about serving as a leader in a rapidly growing 90+ person company. The Controller will play a key role in the overall accounting department and will be tasked with process and controls improvement, scaling accounting infrastructure and operations, inventory management, and shaping a team of skilled accounting professionals.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage a staff of over ten people and oversee the daily and monthly accounting tasks including customer billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, and payroll
• Handle bank reconciliations and manage cash flow
• Refine and implement key controls
• Track inventory and manage write-offs
• Prepare comments on all significant variances and corrective actions
• Assist in budgeting and creating forecasting models
• Prepare necessary audit and tax schedules for the outside CPA firm
• Ensure accurate regulatory reporting and tax practices
• Advise company executives on accounting matters and monitor various business metrics to distill key financial data

ABOUT YOU/MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

• Required: BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a similar field
• Required: 3+ years’ experience in a controller level or similar-level position within a mid-sized to large organization
• Required: 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related analytical practice, with a strong preference for additional experience in manufacturing
• Desired: CPA license and/or auditing experience
• Desired: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Strong comprehension of Excel, MS Outlook, Word, accounting systems, and experience authoring standard operating procedures for an accounting department
• Experience handling budgets, tax, and other banking requirements
