    This internship is recommended for a college student. 

    Assists as needed in all Sales and Event operations. The Special Events Intern performs tasks under the supervision of the Director of Sales and Special Events Manager to provide support. The day-to-day activities include organizing various events, shows, and any other events executed at the property.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Supports the Sales and Events team in the planning and execution of events.
    • Assists in content development for events and outreach to sponsors and vendors.
    • Assists Marketing Team to plan and execute all marketing activities necessary to ensure a successful event.
    • Coordinates delivery of all items needed for events.
    • Participates in BEO and other sales/operation related meetings.
    • Monitors special events content on the website and social media sites to ensure they are updated weekly.
    • Assists with securing equipment and rentals as needed, set-up, tear-down, and help coordination of overall event execution. as point of contact for meeting planners & banquet hosts during the day of events.
    • Assist in all other areas as needed.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    These physical demands represent the physical requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to drive, walk, lift to 35 pounds, talk and hear/listen. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, feel/reach with hands and arms. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of the position.

     

    • Associate may have to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    TRAVEL

    Local and regional travel is required, resulting in overnight trips. This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid Ohio Driver’s license. The successful candidate would provide proof that s/he has a valid driver’s license upon being hired.

     QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Must currently be enrolled in college. Hospitality Management or Business Major preferred.
    • Must have flexible availability
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Office 365
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
