    The World Equestrian Center located in Ocala, Florida is searching for a Chief Engineer to join our team. The Chief Engineer will provide oversight and Leadership of all maintenance and landscaping activities associated with the physical operation of the Hotel and Outlets. Directs all maintenance operations, supervising all aspects of routine maintenance, vendor, and supplier management on a daily basis.

    Primary Responsibilities:.

    • Manage the physical operations of the property, including equipment, refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, water treatment, grounds/landscaping and electrical systems.
    • Ability to operate Building Automation Systems, diagnose deficiencies and take appropriate action for correction.
    • Ensure the execution of the property’s preventative maintenance program.
    • Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses.
    • Develop, implement and direct all Emergency Programs.
    • Ensure all safety equipment is maintained and conduct inspections and drills.
    • Ensure compliance with all local codes and regulations.
    • Maintain detailed records of as appropriate for efficient operations of the department and auditing.
    • Assist in training employees and maintain accurate records to ensure a safe environment which protects the asset, guests and employees.
    • Hire, train, schedule and review the performance of all maintenance personnel.
    • Participate in MOD Program and manage administrative oversight of entire maintenance department.
    • Develop and maintain the operational budget within the departmental guidelines.
    • Vendor management and execution of competitive bidding process.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Physical requirements for particular tasks include but are not limited to standing for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, lifting, shoveling, reaching, and grabbing.
    • As an MOD, heavy workloads require the ability exert up to 50 pounds of force and the ability to regularly lift 25 lbs.

    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

    • High School Diploma.
    • Associate degree or Technical School diploma preferred.
    • Three years’ experience in a similar position.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Superior leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work well in high volume environment.
