    WORLD EQUESTRIAN CENTER - OCALA is the largest equestrian complex in the United States, it brings the ultimate horse show experience to exhibitors and vendors, combining quality facilities with exceptional service.  We offer everything from luxury dining to field concessions and on-site catering options.  We are seeking at this time, PASTRY COOK I OR II to join our culinary team at one of six restaurants located throughout the property.

    Ideal candidates must have excellent customer service skills, experience in food services and a desire to provide a great experience for our guests. Weekend availability is a must.

    Our compensation package includes a $13.50 - $16.00 hourly starting wage (commensurate with experience and skills), medical and dental, 401k with match, dining and travel discounts, special offers from our business partners, and discount programs for selected cell phone providers.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Follow recipes and progressions.
    • Confection of mousses, creams, ganache, chocolates
    • Confection of petit gateaux, decoration, and storage.
    • Confection of large desserts, wedding cakes
    • Packaging of baked goods
    • Finishing touches on tarts, entremets, and petit gateaux for the Pastry Boutique
    • Organizes ingredients, recipes and/or supplies to ensure consistency and an organized and efficient production of all menu items.
    • Performs all functions and jobs as needed with the ability and knowledge to create advanced baked goods, specials and assist with menu development.
    • Oversees production in the kitchen
    • Ensures completion of all prep and menu items in accordance with recipes and special requests.
    • Communicates between shifts and ensures adequate prep for the next shift.
    • Coaches, trains, develops, and supports all team member training and advancement
    • Communicate supply levels and conducts inventories of kitchen items

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Friendly guest service personality and positive attitude always exhibited.
    • Knowledge of advanced baking techniques with 3 to 5 years of progressive culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.  
    • Previous exposure to pastry preparation
    • Demonstrates creative ability
    • Serve safe certification
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Exhibits positive attitude toward guests and team members.
    • Demonstrates proactive leadership qualities.
    • Professional conduct and appearance.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and handle multiple duties.
    • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • ServSafe Certificate
    • 3+ years of professional baking experience
