    Interested in using your communications skills to help advance education technology innovation and research to improve reading outcomes for marginalized children in developing countries? Come join our team!  This dynamic role is within World Vision’s challenge management team for All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development (ACR GCD), an initiative founded by USAID, World Vision and the Australian Government.  You will contribute to the setting of communication strategies and manage the writing of communication and marketing materials, ensuring compliance with our style, brand and voice guidelines. You’ll use your social media, website content management, writing, editing, brand management, as well as webinar and event support skills to advance our efforts to help kids learn to read. Graphic design and video editing experience a plus but not required. 

    Write, edit and produce external communications documents, tools and proposals that support World Vision's goals. Ensure that communication materials support the mission of World Vision and adhere to corporate messaging and branding standards. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

    Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.

    Research, investigate, write, proofread, edit, and execute documents for institutional donors that achieve the highest level of quality consistent with corporate identity as well as brand message and industry standards. Written copy may include, but is not limited to the following:

    grant proposals and reports

    "best practice" brochures

    formats and style guides for proposals

    new media copy

    program overviews

    Design and execute graphic art design and production of communication pieces for use with US government, foundations, corporate donors and peer organizations, achieving a level of design quality consistent with corporate identity and brand message and industry standards.

    Research, write, and create new media for the IPG web pages, ensuring accurate, compelling and up-to-date information is readily accessible to donors and partners.

    Actively participate in team meetings to develop strategy and concepts and propose solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations.

    Consult with other writing staff and clients to ensure clarity and consistency of final product.

    Provide conceptual and technical advice to outside vendors/freelancers to ensure high quality final products. Review creative copy to ensure that WV messaging and branding guidelines are adhered to.

    Keep apprised of global events, ministry trends, and partnership issues that affect project content.

    Stay abreast of new technologies and trends critical to writing techniques.

    Manage projects assigned by supervisor adhering to deadlines and targeted message and ensuring that needed information is identified, meetings are scheduled, resource is gathered, deadlines are met, and client is kept apprised of any changes in project status.

    Edit and proofread department projects.

    Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as part of a team.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.

    Required Experience

    Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires work experience in marketing and communications, including professional writing/editing and graphic design experience; 7 years. Work experience or understanding of international development issues and/or sector area preferred.
