    Is your public affairs and emergency management coursework fueling your passion for assisting with issues of global poverty?  Do you want your education in public affairs or emergency management to catapult you into non-profit work that gives you meaning and does good in the world?  Do you want an incredible learning experience that will expose you to non-profit work, culture, relevant projects and experts in their field?  The World Vision Internship program is looking for interns with all of the above: passion, ambition, and a desire to put their skills to practice in their area of interest. 

     

    In return, we will give you the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of how a large non-profit functions.  You will receive support and mentorship from World Vision management and team leaders. You will have the opportunity for networking and informational interviews with staff at all levels, which can possibly help you in determining future career paths.  You will be part of a dynamic departmental team, attend appropriate departmental meetings, and other activities that will be enhancing our team capacity to better serve children worldwide!

     

    *Note - interns will not have the opportunity to travel internationally.

    Required Skills

    The Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA) team is looking for interns who have:

    • Taken relevant courses in Humanitarian Assistance, Social Sciences, International Relations, International Development, Emergency Affairs, Refugee Studies, Political Science or Economics
    • An understanding of international humanitarian emergency crises or acquiring grants or program evaluation
    • An interest in conducting research related to these issues
    • French or Spanish proficiency

    Required Experience

    • Completion of undergraduate degree (with work towards or completion of Masters degree preferred)
    • Available 20-29 hours a week for a minimum of 10-12 weeks (to up to 6 months) beginning in October or as soon as possible
    • Eligible to work in the United States (US citizen/resident or F1-student visa)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Excellent writing and research skills
    • Attention to detail and strong analysis skills
    • Good interpersonal skills
