Join World Vision as a MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

01 THE JOB A great story can inspire people to see the world in new ways, but a truly talented and strategic storyteller can move people from awareness to action. You're this type of talent. A world-class marketing and communications professional who wants to make the world a better place by helping children, families, and their communities overcome poverty and injustice.

As the Marketing Communications Officer you’ll serve as a key member on our Partnerships and Innovation team here at World Vision, finding new places to gain a response from audiences in the US. Your work will help raise support for life-saving humanitarian work across the globe while also transforming the lives of our US donors who will experience the joy of giving.

While we are working on several growing and diverse partnerships, our core initiative is focused on securing new commitments from Christian schools through an experiential learning initiative called World Vision Ignite.  A key part of scaling this work means leaning strongly into content marketing across several platforms as we grow our credibility and visibility in this new space.

As an ideal candidate for this role you bring a great track record in marketing and communications, preferably in nonprofit fundraising and communications leadership. Bonus if you have some experience with Christian schools. You carry the mindset of an editor who loves to write and see campaigns come to life. You’re adept at being versatile easily moving from writing blog posts, to ghostwriting long-format content, to creating emails, scripts for podcasts, social media content, ad copy and press releases.

You embody what it means to be a lifelong learner by being naturally curious, asking great questions in concert with active listening, and simply love collaborating with others. You take ownership of your work but in the same breath are willing to pitch in on any project at a moment’s notice. And yes, you have a particular passion to craft communication that connects. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Let us know about your body of work past and present as well about what you’ve learned over the years. We’re excited to see what God does next and who He might be preparing for this role for such a time as this.

02 WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 1) You refine and execute a successful content marketing plan that captures the attention of our target audiences, cultivates those in the pipeline to conversion. 2) As a storyteller, you identify and curate ongoing content from our partners across the country by finding relevant and interesting stories and adapting content across platforms to measure and grow engagement. 3) You help gain placement to increase coverage for Ignite and other new initiatives through both existing World Vision channels and external channels (strategic PR) hitting team goals for coverage. 4) You manage an array of writing projects including letters, ghostwriting content for partners, and digital ad copy - delivering content that collectively generates new interest to help meet team sponsorship goals. 5) You show time and again that you believe in the larger cause by your attitude, the way you collaborate, how you innovate, and how you own your part of our larger team goals.

03 WHERE THIS JOB COULD TAKE YOUR CAREER This is a team with the mindset of a startup. We birth new initiatives, so as we grow, you’ll grow and your career prospects will expand. We believe in taking care of our people, so we want to hear where you want to go with your career. You'll have opportunities to advance within our robust and talented group of marketers as you continue to stretch and grow your career for the future. You’ll be part of World Vision USA,  part of the larger World Vision International partnership. Globally, we have over 40,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries. Just over 1000 of us call World Vision USA home.

04 ABOUT WORLD VISION USA When you work at World Vision, your passions and talents come together to meet the greatest needs in the world today. We go to ends of the earth and into the margins. Where few go and the road is less traveled. Because Jesus is alive in the hardest places to be a child. We are dangerously soft-hearted. But just the right kind of dangerous. That's because we're a global Christian humanitarian organization. We partner with children, families, and their communities to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. We empower people out of poverty. For real. For good. For nearly the last 70 years. Jesus' love at the center. Always. We're Christian and follow Jesus' example to show unconditional love to the poor and oppressed. Serving every child we can regardless of faith. Are you feeling called to explore joining us? We hope so.
