    01 AT A GLANCE 

    ROLE: Vice President of Program, Quality, and Impact 

    LOCATION: Washington, D.C. USA

    REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President of International Programs Group (IPG)

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree or equivalent work experience (10+ years) required. In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 10-15 years of international programs work experience in various geographic locations around the globe or extensive work experience in one area, preferably in programs management and ensuring technical quality and impact.

    TRAVEL: Up to 25% of time both in development and fragile contexts.

     

    02 THE JOB Provide exceptional strategic leadership, direction and management for World Vision US’ Program, Quality and Impact (PQI) business unit, focusing on best-in-class program management, technical branding and evidence of impact across private and public revenue streams. In this role you will oversee programs funded by private grants, public grants and foundations to ensure the highest quality implementation, reduce risk for the organization, be responsive to donors and partners and provide quality and timely program implementation in the field.

     

    Our next VP will support World Vision’s Christian mission, vision and strategy, and keep Christ central in our work. As a Christian leader you will actively participate and contribute to the spiritual disciplines in the organization such as prayer, chapel and worship.     A key part of this role will be to oversee the development and effective implementation of grants from different revenue streams. You’ll ensure strong collaboration and partnership within the International Programs Group and cross-functionally with other WVUS business units and with the global WV Partnership. The ability to work in a complex interdependent team environment is critical to success in this role.   

     

    As the VP of PQI, you’ll bring a history of program and relational leadership. You’re skilled at big picture leadership paired with one-on-one care for each staff member on your team. We’re looking for someone who can develop and grow our next generation of leaders.

     

    Additionally, this role will provide leadership to a large and diverse program management team that is geographically dispersed. In addition, you’ll oversee and provide vision for our Monitoring and Evaluation, Research and Learning and Technical Branding teams. As a member of the IPG Leadership Team, you’ll engage in strategic leadership decisions aimed at aligning WVUS’ work with our global Our Promise Strategy aimed at ensuring children embrace life in all its fullness.

     

    03 WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 1) Create, influence, and drive effective decision making to advance the mission of World Vision and enhance our programs in the field. 2) Ensure a highly engaged and productive team to meet rigorous objectives and help families out of poverty. 3) Develop, coach and build impactful leaders through mentorship, servant leadership, and coaching. 4) Ensure alignment and focus with the WV Our Promise and WVUS strategies to support the broader World Vision partnership 5) Communicate, collaborate, and foster unity focusing on impact and results among all of International Programs. 6) Demonstrate and lead with Christian servant leadership to keep Christ central to our work.

     

    04 YOU BRING A Master’s degree or equivalent work experience 10+ years. You’ll also bring 10-15 years of international programs work experience in various geographic areas around the globe or extensive work experience in one area, preferably in programs management and ensuring technical quality.  Overseas work experience is a must! 

    You’ll bring a collaborative spirit, an expertise in managing complexity and a desire to be a servant leader. Our next VP will be comfortable working with complex grant funding, communicating the evidence of impact to a wide variety of stakeholders, and skilled at systems and reporting that demonstrates impact.

     

    05 ADDITIONAL SKILLS WE’RE INTERESTED IN You’ve implemented, led, and successfully monitored development programs in various international geographic regions. You’re excited to empower upcoming leaders and help your staff grow professionally. Your faith is the driving factor in doing this work and ensuring life in all its fullness for the most vulnerable children in the world. You’re a strong networker and can influence strategic directions within WVUS, the World Vision Partnership and with donors.

     

    06 WHERE THIS JOB COULD TAKE YOUR CAREER You'll have an opportunity to lead a large team of experts within our talented international programs group and you will sit on the IPG Leadership Team.
