    World Vision is hiring a HEALTH PROJECT MANAGER to serve on the PQI Health Team and work with Neglected Tropical Diseases.

     

    01 AT A GLANCE 

    ROLE: Health Project Manager, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD)

    LOCATION: Washington, D.C. USA

    REPORTS TO: Health Director

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  Fluent in French. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 3-5 years work experience in project management or related field. Work experience must include at least one year of previous project leadership experience.

    WORK AUTHORIZATION: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.

    TRAVEL: Up to 40% of time both in development and fragile contexts.

     

    02 THE JOB: World Vision is looking a French-speaking Project Manager to provide program and technical management support to the USAID’s Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) | West Program in Washington DC. The Project Manager will support program management functions and program activities. S/he will support the creation, implementation and adoption of processes that enable knowledge capture, real-time collaboration, problem solving and organizational learning across program. The Project Manager will have wide‑ranging responsibilities and work with project staff at all levels. The  requires flexibility and willingness to assume varied duties and projects with an emphasis on supporting the team with knowledge management and creating a repository of all the project’s documentation, and ensuring that learning is routinely derived from program and evidence activities is appropriately packaged in line with program’s strategic priorities to strengthen country capacity to sustain NTD control and elimination. Also, the Project Manager will provide technical and administrative support to operations and management.

     

    03 YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: 

    Under USAID’s ACT |West Program, World Vision is a technical partner charged to provide technical assistance to NTDPs to develop and define country-specific cross-sectoral approaches to sustain deworming interventions, the government should make them part of the basic services package and deliver them through existing platforms. World Vision guides, develops and strengthens cross sector coordination mechanisms to leverage existing drug distribution platforms and in-country technical expertise to implement long-term, cost-effective Schistosomiasis (SCH) and Soil Transmitted Helminthiasis (STH) programs, in close coordination with WASH, Nutrition, Malaria, MCH, and School programming to achieve each country’s control objectives.

     

    THIS FRENCH-SPEAKING PROJECT MANAGER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OUTCOMES ARE:

     

    1. KEEP CHRIST CENTRAL IN INDIVIDUAL AND CORPORATE LIFE. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.

    2. PROGRAM AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

    • Provide program management support to the USAID’s Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) | West Program.
    • Manage the Monthly and Semi-Annual reporting process.
    • Provide technical and administrative support to the NNN Operations and Management
    • Monitor program budget, tracking expenditures to ensure expenses are within budget.  
    • Provide support as needed in managing the technical strategies development and implementation
    • Assist ACT | West technical team to formalize and implement of partnerships/consortia, communicating with internal teams regarding resources availability and timelines.
    • Facilitate and document discussions, gathering needed information and engaging with appropriate internal and external contacts to formalize agreements.

     

    1. TEAM COORDINATION AND SUPPORT:
    • Promote team effectiveness and organization through coordination of team meetings and events,
    • Backstop country program staff as needed to ensure continuity of activity implementation
    • Provide support for program as assigned by director and advisor, such as preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide timely and effective support to the preparation, coordination, development, and organization of program activities
    • Provide other support and assistance to team members as needed, including assistance with formatting and packaging of materials for submission to donors

    • Language Proficiency: The ability to speak, understand and write fluently in English and French.

     

    05 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent (eight years) work experience.  In addition to education or education equivalent, requires a minimum of four years’ relevant work experience, including project management, or Master's degree in international development or related and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in supporting USAID funded program management. Demonstrated competencies in interpersonal communication, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.

    FRENCH PROFICIENCY IS REQUIRED.

     

    06 ADDITIONAL SKILLS WE ARE INTERESTED IN: PMP, PMD Pro or a similar project management certification is an advantage.  Multicultural work experience.
