    World Vision is hiring a Staff Accountant on the Accounting & Reporting Team.

    **01 At a Glance **

    **Role : **Staff Accountant, Accounting & Reporting Team, Finance & Legal

    **Location : **Hybrid, from Federal Way, Washington. Majority of day-to-day work can be performed remotely. Required on-site on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, with flexible arrival and departure times.

    Reports to: Accounting Manager, Accounting & Reporting, Finance & Legal

    Required experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience in accounting (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires a minimum of one year of private/corporate or public accounting work experience. Grant experience preferred, not required.

    Salary Range: $53,192.30 - $ 79,788.45/annually. Applies to locations with a market similar to our U.S. HQ in the Greater Seattle area. A different range may apply based on your work location. Typical hiring range is $55,000 - $65,000/annually. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity.     02 The Job: As a Staff Accountant on the Accounting and Reporting team, you’ll join an experienced team of five managing the accounting for World Vision’s portfolio of public grants. You will perform a wide variety of regular and recurring moderately complex to complex accounting functions including establishing accounting records, maintaining the general accounting system, and recommending modifications based on new regulations or policies. You’ll also carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies, and personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    1. Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
    2. Prepare regular journal entries to the general ledger.
    3. Provide input for financial statements and prepare, run, review, and analyze accounting reports.
    4. Reconcile moderately complex subsidiary ledger accounts and checking accounts. 1. Analyze, document, and review accounts. 2. Establish working relationship with business owners to understand the business trends, changes, etc. for variance analysis. 3. Communicate with customers on reconciling issues and articulate solutions. 4. Train customers in Accounting Standard Operating Procedures, as appropriate.
    5. Prepare aging schedules and more complex audit schedules requiring some research and analysis.
    6. Prepare regular internal accounting reports for Finance department management.
    7. Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of processes and make recommendations to leadership regarding internal controls, regulatory compliance, and workplace efficiencies.
    8. Develop a role appropriate understanding of the international World Vision partnership and use this context to inform communications, actions, decisions, recommendations and solutions.
    9. Remain current and increase knowledge in related areas utilizing self-study and/or continuing professional education efforts.
    10. Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as part of a team.
    11. Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.
    12. Perform other duties as assigned.

    04 Education and Experience **: **Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience in accounting (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires a minimum of one year of private/corporate or public accounting work experience. Grant experience preferred, not required. Experience in using software including NetSuite, MS Dynamics, MS Power Automate, MS Excel, are useful but not required.
