    World Vision is hiring a Technical Director, Immunization to serve on the Program Quality and Impact (PQI) Health Team within the International Programs Group (IPG).

    Required experience:

    Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master’s degree in child health, immunization, pediatrics, or public health desired. In addition to education, requires a minimum of five years of experience in a specified sector to include assessment, evaluation, and management of primary health care and/or immunization of projects in low- and middle-income countries.

    Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the USA for any employer.

    Travel: Up to 50% of time both in development and fragile contexts.

    Salary Range: $95,000 - $156,000. Applies to locations with a market similar to our U.S. HQ in the Greater Seattle area. A different range may apply based on your work location. Please note the typical hiring range is $100,000 - $125,000 a year. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity. This range applies to many major U.S. cities.     The Job:

    World Vision is seeking a Technical Director for the Gavi RAISE 4 Sahel project which works with partners in the humanitarian space to reach zero-dose children and missed communities in these settings, which include areas plagued by conflict, across the Sahel and Horn of Africa Regions. The Technical Director will ensure the successful implementation of the Gavi-funded project to reach zero-dose children in fragile and conflict settings with routine childhood immunizations. Provide technical strategic guidance, oversight, administration, fiscal management, and grant and contract administration and management, assuring quality, impact, and cost effectiveness of the project. Assemble and motivate a team of technical local staff and short-term-advisors. Promote an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect. Help carry out our Christian organization's mission and strategy.     Your Responsibilities Will Include:

    Ensure the successful implementation of this multi-national Gavi funded project. Provide technical oversight, administration, fiscal management, and grant and contract administration and management, assuring quality, impact, and cost effectiveness of the project. Assemble and motivate a team of local staff and short-term-advisors. Promote an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect. Communicate World Vision's Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.

    • Act as the technical lead for the grant and provide strategic technical direction to the field teams.

    • Provide strategic technical guidance on sector-specific issues to ensure that promising practices, new developments, and lessons learned are incorporated into programming.

    • Support to the M&E team to develop and monitor key project indicators and foster organizational learning to promote technical excellence.

    • Participate in the documentation of proven models, emerging/promising practices, as well as best practices.

    • Participate in the technical oversight of grant-funded project, including standard setting, tools development, capacity building, and monitoring and evaluation.

    • Contribute to the development, review and provide feedback on implementation reports.

    • Organize and direct the work of local staff and short-term advisors. Provide supervision, training, and performance appraisals.

    • Establish and maintain effective project reporting, evaluation, and communication systems. Submit timely accurate, and professional program reports that meet donor requirements to appropriate World Vision Partnership staff.

    • Establish leadership and personal credibility and implement and maintain clearly understood chain of authority and accountability.

    • Support the management of grant/project budget within approved spending levels and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to donors and WVUS IPG headquarters staff.

    • Ensure grant/project expenses are reasonable, allocable, prudent, and spent in accordance with donor rules and regulations to ensure clean A-133 audits.

    • Liaise with host government officials, local communities, and other organizations as appropriate.

    • Evaluate program effectiveness and determine corrective action needed to improve goal achievement by participating in and conducting primary healthcare assistance surveys and rapid appraisal design.

    • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.

    • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    You Bring These Skills:

    Proven ability to manage technical assistance teams including sub partners and country level project teams. Knowledge of and familiarity with multi donor international assistance program requirements, preferably GAVI, USAID, CDC, UN agencies and private foundations such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and/or other multi-lateral funding agencies desired. Experience in managing sub-grants and contracts under grants for complex project preferred. Experience in conflict and humanitarian contexts and experience in immunizations, primary health care service delivery, vaccine supply chain management, demand creation, and community mobilization/engagement in francophone West Africa strongly preferred. French language professional proficiency strongly desired.

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master’s degree in child health, immunization, pediatrics, or public health desired. In addition to education, requires a minimum of five years of experience in a specified sector to include assessment, evaluation, and management of primary health care and/or immunization of projects in low- and middle-income countries. Experience as a chief of party or senior expert advisor required. Proven ability to manage technical assistance teams. Requires knowledge of and familiarity with US Government international assistance program requirements, preferably USAID and/or other bilateral funding agencies. Requires experience managing sub-grants and contracts under grants for complex projects.

    Salary Range & Benefits:
