Full Job Description
The Accounting Assistant provides assistance to the accounting department. The Accounting Assistant reports to the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities for Accounting Assistant
Support duties related to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Clerical tasks including processing and recording transactions
Perform basic office tasks such as filing, answering phones, processing mail
Daily vouchers inputs, weekly and monthly accounting report process.
Maintain the confidentiality of all financial data
Prepares tax and management reports corresponded.
Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
Keeps management informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports on accounting and financial issues.
Qualifications for Accounting Assistant
Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
Advanced knowledge of Quick Books.
Associate's degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a similar field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience can be substituted.
1-2 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience
Knowledge of federal tax and California state tax law and regulation.
Ability to work independently on assigned duties
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
