We are a growing manufacturing organization with a focus on quality and constant improvement seeking an EHS Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all safety functions for a factory-based workforce. Providing ongoing support to senior management regarding employee safety issues, legally compliant regulations, and safety-related training.
This is an evolving position and responsibilities may shift over time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee, manage and enforce all company policies and procedures as they relate to safety
- Complete and manage all incident investigation reports
- Administer 1st aid to employees as needed
- Training of new and current employees on all safety-related aspects of their jobs
- Manage all worker’s compensation claims from beginning to end
- Ensure legal compliance and consistency in all fields related to safety
- Conduct research and keep up to date with best safety practices
- Other duties may be assigned as required
Required Skills
Required Experience
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field preferred
- 10 + years of professional-level experience working in a safety position or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, multi-level, project-based environment with an emphasis on timelines and delivery of an asset
- Understanding of manufacturing processes in a factory environment is an asset
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety, legal requirements, and best practices
- Commitment to quality, including attention to detail required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, use discretion, and uphold high ethical standards required
- Ability to work independently required
- Ability to adhere to all company policies and safety procedures as required
- Motivated, goal-driven, with a dedication to constant improvement
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English; including both verbal and written required
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset
- Proficiency on all standard office equipment is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 2016 and Windows 7+ is required
