    NYS Driver's License REQUIRED (min. one year), along with the desire to have fun, build relationships, and enrich the lives of people with disabilities!  We provide all education and training.

     

    We have immediate openings for all full-time and part-time shifts in our residential homes. Our “right fit” hiring practice ensures that we work together to find the right placement for you. We have 30 residential homes on the East, West, North and South sides of Rochester and Monroe County, so we have the right location for you!

          

    SHIFTS ARE 2-10P AND 3-11P (8-HOUR SHIFTS).

    Required Skills

    • GUIDE people through their morning & nighttime routine (varied based on level of support)
    • ASSIST with personal care, hygiene, and daily living skills
    • PLAY basketball, go for a walk, challenge someone to a game of cards
    • EXPLORE parks, museums, concerts, sporting events within the community
    • PREPARE a favorite meal together, making consistency modifications if necessary
    • ROLE MODEL for making safe and healthy lifestyle choices
    • GROW positive relationships with families or guardians, and be their go-to contact
    • ATTEND to medical needs, including transportation to and from doctor’s appointments

    Required Experience

     

    • High School diploma/G.E.D.
    • VALID NYS DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORK
    • Excellent communications skills

     

    You would be a good fit if your background includes Human Services, Teaching Assistant, Paraprofessional, Personal Care Aide, Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant, Customer Service, Psychiatry, Education, being collaborative, empathetic and caring.

    The Arc of Monroe supports people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, as well as a wide variety of other disabilities.  The Arc of Monroe has been providing a variety of programs and services for over 1,400 people with I/DD and their families in the Rochester community for over 60 years.
