    MAJOR FUNCTION: The Teen Traffic Safety Program Specialist is a grant funded position housed at TCC main campus.  The Teen Traffic Safety Program Specialist provides assistance on the Florida Teen Traffic Safety grants, which includes the  Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Assists in establishing new traffic safety focused student-based chapters, maintaining currently established chapters, and assuring accuracy of contact database. Promote FTSDC in the creation, development, and dissemination of teen traffic safety related content.  Support Statewide Coordinator in the area of data collection, tracking, and reporting related to teen traffic safety trends.  

    • Assists in the implementation and promotion of teen traffic safety events throughout Florida. Responsible for timely reporting of program activities through on-line documentation system and other required monthly/quarterly/annual grant reports. Assists with developing grant ideas and assists in writing program related grants, including budget development. Responsible for the development, submission and processing of budget related content in online system.  

    • Assists with the coordination of the a Student Leadership Council (SLC) and establishes annual goals to advance teen traffic safety throughout Florida and to engage the SLC in developing and promoting educational programs and opportunities. 

    • Networking with student-based chapters and with relevant coalitions/committees/agencies that support teen traffic initiatives. Represents the Teen Safe Driving Coalition on committees and on local/regional/state coalitions. 

    • Traveling to and participating in the FTSDC meetings. Record meeting minutes, notes, and develops minutes for stakeholder disbursement.

     

     

    MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  A high school diploma or its equivalent and five years of related experience in marketing, advertising, non-profit organization, or a teen traffic safety setting.  A combination of education and experience may substitute for the required experience.  The bachelor’s may substitute for four years of the required experience, while the master’s degree may substitute for five years of the required experience.   Must have a valid Driver License. 

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of teen traffic safety and prevention field.  Knowledge of budgeting process and experience in developing and managing budgets.  Experience in developing and conducting training.  Excellent skills in the use of computers using word processing, spreadsheets, email, and social media.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills.  Ability to work independently and as a team player.  Ability to work with a wide variety of people.  Must be able to travel to give presentations, attend meetings, and/or train at schools and events across the state. 

     

    Must be able to lift and transport boxes containing outreach materials used to train at schools and events across the state.

    • Perform data analysis to support evaluation of system defects or to develop requirements for new functionality; triage and troubleshoot complex user-reported system defects; assist in various system trouble shooting and balancing and correction efforts including analysis, verification and validation of issues and fixes. 
    • Facilitate collaborative system and data design sessions with the user community, technical architecture resources and development resources. 
    • Assist in the development of data models and interface design specifications. 
    • Assist in systems and business process support across multiple client business units. 
    • Conduct impact analysis of technology changes on business processes and existing technology. 
    • Provide consulting services to customer on business application requirements needed to support trading partner EDI / Electronic Commerce requirements
