Job Title: Wormtown Prep Cook Status: Full Time or Part Time Reports to: Kitchen Manager Salary: $18/hr - $20/hr
JOB DESCRIPTION & EXPECTATIONS
Wormtown Brewery’s revamped Shrewsbury Street taproom is reopening soon, and we’re building a hardworking, reliable, positive kitchen team to support the fresh energy coming into the space! We’re looking for Prep Cooks who bring consistency, organization, and a positive attitude to our culinary team.
As a Prep Cook, you’ll support daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, portioning products, helping cooks stay organized, and ensuring our menu items start from a place of quality. This role includes some dishwashing duties as needed, especially during busy periods or shift transitions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Kitchen Support
Arrive for a shift on time and in uniform.
Wash, peel, cut, and prepare basic ingredients as directed.
Portion and label items according to kitchen standards.
Assist with stocking deliveries, rotating product, and maintaining organization.
Assist cooks during busy shifts by restocking stations and returning clean equipment.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team during rushes.
Help break down the kitchen at end of night, including equipment wipe-down and trash removal.
Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware quickly and thoroughly as needed.
Keep dish area clean, organized, and properly stocked as needed.
Operate and maintain the dish machine according to safety guidelines as needed.
Maintain cleanliness of floors, trash, recycling, and back-of-house work areas as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18+ years of age.
No prior experience required — we will train!
Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused during high-volume shifts.
Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to jump in where needed.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in hot, fast-paced environments.
Night, weekend, and holiday availability required.
Reliable transportation to and from the taproom.
