** ****Join our church family this summer in a transformative internship centered on worship leadership while supporting our children's ministry. As our Summer Worship Intern, you'll develop practical ministry skills under the guidance of experienced leaders who will help you grow both spiritually and professionally. This role offers hands-on experience in worship planning and leadership while providing valuable support to our summer children's programming.
**ROLE SUMMARY
** The Summer Worship Intern (High School) serves primarily within the worship ministry department while providing strategic support to children's ministry during key summer events. This position gives high school students an opportunity to explore worship leadership, develop musical and organizational skills, and contribute meaningfully to creating authentic worship experiences across all age groups.

Reports To: Worship Pastor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Worship Planning & Leadership
- Assist the Worship Pastor in planning weekly worship services including song selection, order of service, and special elements
- Help prepare worship materials including chord charts, lyric slides, and rehearsal guides
- Contribute to scheduling worship team members using Planning Center Online
- Participate actively in worship services according to gifting (instrumental, vocal, tech)
- Help coordinate and communicate with volunteer worship team members
- Rehearsal & Technical Support
* Assist with setup, execution, and teardown for weekly worship team rehearsals
* Help prepare rehearsal spaces with necessary equipment and resources
* Take notes during rehearsals for follow-up items and improvements
* Support the technical team with sound checks, ProPresenter slides, and other worship technology
* Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and communicate complex problems to appropriate staff
- Worship Administration
* Maintain organized digital and physical files of music resources
* Assist with copyright compliance and reporting for worship music
* Help manage the worship ministry calendar and communicate schedule changes
* Contribute to worship ministry social media and communication channels
* Participate in weekly worship planning meetings, offering fresh perspectives
- Creative Elements
* Assist with stage design and visual worship elements
* Help prepare communion, baptism, and other worship service elements
* Contribute ideas for enhancing worship environments
* Support special worship events (outdoor services, youth worship nights, etc.)
SUPPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES: KID'S MINISTRY
VBS Support
- Assist the Children's Ministry Team with music elements during Vacation Bible School
- Help teach and lead worship songs for VBS participants
- Support VBS tech needs for music tracks, videos, and presentations
- Assist with rehearsing and directing children for any VBS performances
- Help create an engaging worship atmosphere appropriate for children
Summer Blast Event
* Contribute to planning the musical components of the Summer Blast Event
* Assist with rehearsals for any performances or special music elements
* Help integrate worship experiences that connect with elementary-aged children
* Support the technical and logistical needs of children's worship segments
* Assist with setup and teardown of worship spaces for children's events
Weekly Children's Ministry Support
* Occasionally assist with Sunday morning children's worship and/or teaching
* Help create age-appropriate worship resources for children
* Support the connection between main worship and children's worship themes
* Assist with special music-focused activities during summer programming

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE **** **** **

- Current high school student or recent graduate
- Proficiency in at least one worship instrument (guitar, piano, etc.) or strong vocal abilities
- Familiarity with contemporary worship music and styles
- Basic understanding of biblical principles of worship
- Capacity to receive direction and implement feedback
- Willingness to serve in both visible and behind-the-scenes roles

MENTORSHIP
The Summer Worship Intern will receive direct mentorship from the Worship Pastor through weekly one-on-one meetings focused on spiritual formation, worship theology, and practical skill development. The intern will be integrated into the worship team culture and participate in staff devotionals and leadership training.
