    KPS Global (KPSG) is the North American industry leader in the manufacture, production, and installation of Walk-in Coolers and Freezers.  KPSG’s end-product serves many channels within the retail food market as well as industrial applications.  KPSG is based in Fort Worth, Texas with Engineering activities centralized in the Fort Worth facility (along with Finance, Human Resources, Customer Operations, Sales, and Installation Services), supporting product manufacturing in three locations: Fort Worth; Piney Flats, TN; and Goodyear, AZ.

    KPS Global is looking for a Contract Designer, to join the Engineering Design Group.  To provide direct engineering support within the above functions that includes: 

    • Use parametric modeling techniques to create master assemblies to support insulated panel manufacturing and derivatives
    • Create master model assemblies for design department and maintenance of established models
    • Create equations to control models
    • Create configurations of varying designs to support the various channels / value streams
    • Expert knowledge of parametric modelling and ability to demonstrate such capacities
    • Expert proficiency with SolidWorks modelling and application in a mass-customization business
    • Advanced knowledge of equations and equation manager in SolidWorks (use of in practical applications – “proven”)
    • Advanced understanding and application of top-down modelling techniques
    • Advanced knowledge of Property Tab Builder within the SolidWorks toolset
    • Advanced knowledge of linking properties/equations across multiple parts in assemblies
    • Basic knowledge and use of Product Database Management (PDM)
    • Basic level understanding of C++ programming language and logic

    Required Skills

    • technical communication (MSExcel/MSWord/MSPowerpoint)
    • demonstrated mechanical design creativity
    • mechanical drawing layout
    • 2D/3D CAD (AUTODESK Inventor, Dassault SOLIDWORKS, or equivalent)
    • 1-5 years mechanical design experience
    • 1+ years in a product development/testing role in the construction industry
    • Associate of Science Degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering (ASME/ASCE or equivalent) preferred

    Required Experience

    5-10 years mechanical design experience in completing complex assemblies

    5+ years in a product development/testing role in a related industry

    2-4 years of practical experience in creating / developing parametric models using a combination of equations and top down assembly techniques

    • Ability to demonstrate and articulate practical work experience application

    Associate of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ASME/ASCE or equivalent) or equivalent work experience
