    POSITION SUMMARY  

    Develop and grow relationships with various contacts at multiple plants of an important key customer account.  Responsible for increasing sales, improving gross profit, promoting the CPS brand, actively collecting excess and obsolete, mitigating bad debt, and fulfillings all contractual obligations.  The Key Account Manager is the liaison between the customer and all departmental functions within the Company.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Key Liaison to coordinate activities between the customer and all Würth Adams departments including customer service, purchasing/sourcing, finance, quality, engineering, logistics as well as senior management.
    • Aggressively pursue all opportunities for additional business at each customer. This can be accomplished by conducting line walks, working with production supervisors, and understanding customer product/model changes.
    • Increase sales by introducing additional product lines/categories outside of our core competency.
    • Add to customer base by prospecting, calling on and securing orders with sub-contractors of current key accounts
    • Introduce new products by using samples, websites, catalogs and various other marketing materials and sales tools.
    • Manage a key account contract renewal using the internal process documentation, team collaboration, and communication with customer.
    • Takes lead in preparation and presentation of continuous improvement review per the contractual obligation.
    • Leads internal RAIL or customer update meetings with internal team members.
    • Provide expert analysis for program solutions through the use of CPS Tools, making recommnedations to customers and team members.
    • Meets all customer VA/VE contractual obligations including customer fastener-related manufacturing problems, conducting product tear downs, analyzing fastener needs, recommending alternative solutions, performing fastener standardization reviews, and providing fastener application solutions to the customer
    • Responds quickly to heightened production issues involving appropriate departments, staff, and customer personnel
    • Prepare reports of business transactions, current customer opportunities, contractual information, pricing files, and profit improvements
    • Proactively manage and collect excess/obsolete inventory, presenting to customers on a quarterly basis and reporting results to management
    • Mitigate bad debt by coordinating communication through cross-company accounting departments and identifying cause for lack of payment
    • Submit expense records/documents in a timely manner according to company policy
    • Manage customer information using Contact Relationship Management system, including recording of sales visit notes and appointments, engineering projects, proposed opportunities and contact information. Play an active role in an implementation of a new customer Vendor Managed Inventory program.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned

     

    QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Bachelor's Degree – Engineering, Business, Marketing, or Industrial Distribution preferred, but open to all majors; Minimum of 3 years Key Account Management experience with related products or commensurate combination of education and experience in a related industry.
    • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees. Refined persuasion and related sales and presentation skills.
    • Strong listening and interpersonal skills
    • Good judgement and decision making
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to solve mathematical equations as related to job position, such as graphs, statistics, percentages and ratios.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, blueprint or schedule form.
    • Must occasionally lift, carry or move up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able and willing to travel up to 50% of time.
    • Maintain a valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
