    Job Description

    Wy’East Medical Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Safe Patient Handling Program Manager to join our team. This position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in the beautiful Portland, Oregon metropolitan area.

    In this full time, salaried role you will be a key contributor and member of our management team as we provide products, services, and solutions in support of the Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) segment of the healthcare industry. Wy’East Medical prides itself on providing solutions in support of patient handling ergonomics with the goal of avoiding incidents that lead to caretaker and patient injuries.

    Position Summary

    The Safe Patient Handling Program Manager’s (SPHPM) role is to provide leadership, management, field team support, and outcome management in support of safe patient handling clinical education, sales, marketing, and business development. The SPHPM works collaboratively with Sales Management to establish goals, outcome measures, activities, and annual sales and marketing strategy. In addition, the SPHPM works collaboratively with Operations and Engineering to ensure clinical appropriateness of all existing and new product and accessory designs. The SPHPM, as part of the Wy’East Management Team, contributes to relevant company planning and goal setting, takes joint ownership for sales outcomes, provides service excellence and customer support, and leads various projects as assigned to promote overall excellence in quality and success of the organization. This is a position that requires approximately 25-50% travel on average.

    Responsibilities

    • In collaboration with Sales Management, contributes to the setting of annual sales goals and annual sales strategy. • Develop and manage annual budget for assigned areas of responsibility. • Coordinates high level customer interactions, ensures solid customer relationships, and conducts business development. • In close collaboration with Sales leadership, coordinate company participation and attendance for appropriate industry conventions, shows and events, including presentation of Wy’East Medical products for conferences, speaking engagements, B2B trainings, and other opportunities. • Collaborates with Sales and Engineering on new product design, product enhancements and accessory design to ensure clinical appropriateness and patient safety. • Systematically implements, drives change, improves, and sustains the quality and effectiveness of the Safe Patient Handling and Mobility program. • Provide leadership and supervision of diverse team including Safe Patient Handling Consultants and Sales Administrators ensuring proper training and setting clear expectations for performance. • Oversees clinical appropriateness of recommended patient solutions in accordance with professional licensure. • Recruit and hire self-motivated team members exhibiting the traits of humility, hunger, and the ability to be interpersonally appropriate and aware (emotional intelligence). • Design in collaboration with team, and keep current, all educational materials including, but not limited to, competency checklists, product tip sheets, clinical education modules, educational videos, distributor education and customer specific program components. • Coordinates high level customer interactions, ensures continuing relationships in all regions between customers and Safe Patient Handling Consultant team members. • Covers region without a current Safe Patient Handling Consultant and/or coordinates coverage utilizing other Consultant team members by participating in product demonstrations and training in support of the sales process. • Build reports that track key performance indicators as it relates to Reports Safe Patient Handling Consultant work. • Collaborate with Sales Management on the reporting on new business relevant healthcare trends, industry updates, and competitive landscape to senior leadership. • Uses company CRM to track all interactions with customers and potential customers, ensures appointments are up to date on shared Outlook calendar, completes detailed conference and customer interaction reviews following appointments. • Assures the department’s adherence to sound financial management practices, including booking travel arrangements in a conservative manner per company policy. • Maintains clinical license designation in good standing with the respective governing boards. • Displays a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance. • Willing to perform other duties or tasks as assigned.

    Skills / Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Occupational, Physical Therapy, or Nursing or related safe patient handling field. • Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience in clinical or allied health profession to include minimum 2 years of management experience in a patient handling environment, and a license or certification in nursing, therapy, or ergonomics field (RN, LPN, OT, COTA, PT, PTA, CEES, CEAS). • Ability to obtain CSPHC, or CSPHP within 12 months of employment, current CSPHP preferred. • Servant leadership style. • Strong collaborator exhibiting traits of humbleness, hunger, and emotional intelligence. • Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to constantly learn and grow. • High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation. • Strong communications skills; both verbal and written. • Ability to present and train in classroom settings, as well as on-site one-on-one training. • Proficient software competencies (Excel, Power Point). • Ability to travel on company’s behalf as required, approximately 25-50% (varies) depending on existing educational support demands and customer and employee support needs. • Ability to lift, push/pull up to 50 Lbs., along with bending and reaching as essential to the job. • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license, clear criminal background, and ability to achieve fingerprint clearance, and ability to pass drug test. • Ability to obtain a U.S. passport (may occasionally travel internationally for purposes such as attending international trade shows). • Maintains current vaccinations, willingness to obtain annual flu vaccine, TB test, COVID Vaccine and other credentialing qualifications as required by customers.
