    The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for the integrity of the Accounting Department. We are seeking a candidate with proven experience maintaining the General Ledger structure and continuously optimizing accounting processes. This person should have a solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices to analyze and process complex transactions, resolve discrepancies, and compile documentation in compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. You will oversee the daily operations of the of the accounts payable department. Ability to flourish professionally in a rapidly growing environment.

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Analyze bank transactions against GL accounts and detail of certain significant accounts
    • Oversee all aspects of GL, including month-end entries related to cash, prepaid, and fixed assets
    • Prepares monthly reconciliation, financial statements, financial reports, and corporate annual report
    • Strong knowledge of debits and credits and experience with cost accounting
    • Ensures financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles/reporting standards
    • Assists with internal and external audits; prepares reports and required statements for annual audits
    • Coordinates the preparation of 1099 for vendors
    • Reviews Payables and occasionally serves as backup support
    • Collaborates with AR/AP to ensure accounting issues are resolved favorably
    • Performs other related duties and assists with special projects as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of general accounting experience (combination of experience & education)
    • Associate degree in accounting or business and strong organizational skills are preferred
    • Proficient in QuickBooks and using MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Expert knowledge and understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles
    • Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
    • Solid understanding of the key drivers of profitability, including experience providing analysis with actionable steps for operations
    • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work independently
