Wynona’s House Child Advocacy Center of Essex County, NJ seeks an engaging and organized Volunteer & Intern Coordinator to join and support our mission and commitment to the youth and families of the community. This role is a crucial to the success of the organizing by coordinating the recruitment, training, supervision, and recognition of volunteers and interns.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to attract and recruit volunteers and interns through various channels.
Conduct interviews and screenings to match candidates with suitable roles based on their skills, interests, and availability.
Provide ongoing support, supervision, and guidance by conducting regular check-ins and performance evaluations.
Identify opportunities for professional development and growth; organize and facilitate training sessions to equip volunteers and interns with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel.
Generate reports on volunteer and intern contributions and impact for organizational reporting and grant applications.
Develop and implement recognition and retention strategies to ensure volunteers and interns feel valued and appreciated.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Non-profit Management, Social Work, Human Resources, or related field.
Proven experience in volunteer or intern management, preferably in a nonprofit or community organization.
Strong communication, leadership, time-management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preference will go to candidates who also have the following experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities:
Bilingual candidates preferred – English & Spanish, English & Creole, or English & Portuguese
Experience in volunteer management software.
