In order to port over the next billion people into a secure and open financial system, youre going to need a network of applications that connect to the fiat world Wyres APIs make that happen.

Our mission is to empower fintech projects to execute on their vision by offering them secure access to the largest financial network in the world (the Wyre Network).

To accomplish this mission, weve built a simple set of tools that allows fintech projects to materialize their visions. (1) Our instant Fiat-to-Crypto Checkout gateway is now being used by hundreds of applications (ie. MetaMask, Opera, BRD) to offer the best way to convert card payments into crypto, and (2) our flexible APIs (Transfers API, Custody API, Users API), allow project to build e-wallets, merchant processing services, and money transfer platforms from the ground up.

We focus on compliance, licensing, regulatory, liquidity and payment processing aspects so our partners can do what they do best, creating amazing tools on the blockchain.

Were growing our dev team and looking for a Backend Blockchain Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In joining the team, you would be building and refining our tools and process in our money transfer system. This role reports to the VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining existing blockchain system integrations
• Working with the operations team to integrate new blockchains and assets
• Monitor and fine tune blockchain integrations
• Monitor performance and scalability of blockchain solutions
• Be an owner of what you build, managing the entire product lifecycle
• Tackle a wide variety of coding challenges throughout the stack and contribute to all parts of our code base
• Own your project timelines and deliverables
• You have respect for the code - you leave it better than you found it
• Curious and constantly looking to improve, you spend your free time learning and teaching yourself new skills
• You focus on the product, while still keeping in mind the technical problems inherent in building software

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor / MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• 3-5 yrs working experience
• Strong experience with Distributed Systems and Microservices
• Prior experience in designing and developing Blockchain solutions with BTC
• Solid understanding of Blockchain, Cryptography, Encryption, Automation, and Cloud
• Development experience with ETH Smart Contracts, CELO, and Fine-grained Access Control, Docker, and AWS
• Strong knowledge of Functional programming, Linux, Terraform, and Shell Scripting
• Experience in async programming paradigms (our backend is written using RxJava)
• Experience in maintaining focus and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience in assessing change impacts and the development of task estimates
• Entrepreneurial and team player attitude
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Startup experience preferred
• Working experience in Nodejs and Javascript
• Familiarity with web services, messaging, access and monitoring
• Working knowledge of Agile development process
