Job Description

We’re looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic Network Operations Specialist to help us deploy and operate a best in class packet network, delivering residential, small business, enterprise, and carrier services. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with IP, Ethernet, and PON networks. SysAdmin and/or DevOps skills and experience are a plus. You will assist the Network Engineering Director in all aspects of the network.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of Layer 2+ network

• Participate in network capacity management

• Participate in network growth and augmentation activities

• Provide direct support to Install and Activation Teams

• Act as escalation point for anything network related

• Interface with customers or potential customers as needed

• Interface with vendors and suppliers as needed

• Be available for after hours, nights, weekends, and holidays in case of network outages

• Have fun building a greenfield network from the ground up

Experience/Qualifications

• One + years work experience in network engineering or operations

• Some IP, Ethernet, PON experience

• Familiar with IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN, IPsec, Firewalls, AWS

• Some network capacity management experience

• Excellent network documentation skills

• Familiar with network inventory systems and platforms

• Highly organized and communicative with colleagues and leaders

• Ability to adapt to a changing environment

• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively

• Preference given to individuals living in close proximity to our office
