Job Description
We’re looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic Network Operations Specialist to help us deploy and operate a best in class packet network, delivering residential, small business, enterprise, and carrier services. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with IP, Ethernet, and PON networks. SysAdmin and/or DevOps skills and experience are a plus. You will assist the Network Engineering Director in all aspects of the network.
Responsibilities
Participate in all aspects of Layer 2+ network
Participate in network capacity management
Participate in network growth and augmentation activities
Provide direct support to Install and Activation Teams
Act as escalation point for anything network related
Interface with customers or potential customers as needed
Interface with vendors and suppliers as needed
Be available for after hours, nights, weekends, and holidays in case of network outages
Have fun building a greenfield network from the ground up
Experience/Qualifications
One + years work experience in network engineering or operations
Some IP, Ethernet, PON experience
Familiar with IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN, IPsec, Firewalls, AWS
Some network capacity management experience
Excellent network documentation skills
Familiar with network inventory systems and platforms
Highly organized and communicative with colleagues and leaders
Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
Preference given to individuals living in close proximity to our office
