    General Position Description:

    XSITE LLC is looking for a qualified candidate for the position of Systems Engineer II (MBSE). The selected candidate will be integrated with a team responsible for design, development, and maintenance of SysML models for DoD systems, with a focus on identifying and implementing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) solutions that optimize customer technical and administrative processes. Much of the modeling work will be performed using SysML/Cameo, with the rest leveraging a variety of commercial and custom tools and languages. The ideal candidate will proactively advance their knowledge of the customer’s processes, systems, and technologies to continuously improve the quality of support.

    Job Description:

    The Systems Engineer II (MBSE) will be a recognized contributor in designing, implementing, and maintaining digital engineering models for our clients. This opportunity will work closely with the Prime for Architecture to both establish new, and develop existing, digital models of complex DoD systems, leading to:

    • More effective and efficient integration and collaboration between systems and program owners
    • An increase in the organization’s capability to support complex system development and design efforts
    • Provide a common, collaborative environment to store, share, and analyze technical system data

    In this capacity, the successful candidate will be required to:

    • Perform initial system analysis, including scope definition, problem analysis, requirements gathering and development
    • Generate artifacts, models, and visualizations for use by customers and community stakeholders
    • Evaluate and compare alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques
    • Support requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes
    • Support customer meetings, data gathering activities, and site visits
    • Work with XSITE and industry experts to develop and analyze systems engineering design and execution using MBSE methodologies
    • Assist our XSITE experts with MBSE knowledge management, research and other efforts to grow our body of knowledge in digital engineering capability disciplines.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related disciplines, or equivalent knowledge and skills
    • Experience using Cameo
    • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
    • Ability to build and assess systems engineering and architecture models using a modeling methodology to conduct technical assessments that inform key technical decisions
    • Excellent technical writing and editing skills, excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills for engagement and presentation of briefings to senior officials, and comfortable with facilitation of meetings and workshops
    • Ability to solve technical problems independently, follow through on assigned tasks, and manage time efficiently
    • Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word

    Desired skills:

    • Experience using tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, NoMagic, or other MBSE tools
    • 3 or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related disciplines
    • Knowledge of systems architecture and systems design and development. Understanding of modern systems engineering methods
    • Experience in composing concepts of operations, use cases, workflow models, and other relevant artifacts that captures the mission and intent of a system
    • Experience in enterprise architecture modeling using common frameworks like DoDAF, TOGAF, etc.
    • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, HTML, SQL.
    • Experience working with networks/systems within the DoD and/or Intelligence community

    Clearance Requirements:

    • Active Secret Clearance required
    • And/or be eligible for a Secret Clearance with a successful background investigation completed.

    Location: San Diego, CA

    Travel Anticipated: 10% or less
