    Job Description

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Contractor Workflow Solutions, part of the Verisk family, is the leading software provider of restoration job management, home builder service/warranty management, industrial inspection, and work order management software. We are seeking a professional, dynamic, and proactive Senior Business Analyst (BA) /Quality Assurance Analyst (QA) to join our team.

    The Senior BA/QA will work in close collaboration with customers, product managers, sales, training, support, and application developers to help guide the development of new functionality for existing and future software systems.  This role will also include quality assurance testing during release cycles to verify the delivered software meets the requirements.   Candidates must be self-motivated individuals who can understand technical concepts and clearly communicate them across the teams. 

    ABOUT THE DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

    PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

    • Working closely with customers, product managers, sales, training, support, and development teams to enhance product functionality.
    • Creating User Stories/requirements based upon product owner/customer requests.
    • Maintaining product backlogs / Leading backlog grooming sessions.
    • Participating in Software Development Life Cycle/SCRUM/Agile team meetings.
    • Testing requirements during release cycles.
    • Working with support teams to troubleshoot and analyze customer issues.
    • Working with customers for User Acceptance testing activities and analyzing results.
    • Serving as a mentor, resource and subject matter expert to fellow team members and peers.

    ABOUT YOU AND HOW YOU CAN EXCEL IN THIS ROLE

    EDUCATION:  Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience applicable to the role.

    KNOWLEDGE: 

    • BA methodologies
    • Software Development Life Cycle/SCRUM/Agile
    • QA Testing.
    • Jira and SQL experience are a plus.

     

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • Seven (7) to Ten (10) or more years of formal Business Analysis/Quality Assurance experience. 
    • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle from Requirements through Post-Release. 
    • Experience writing user stories / requirements for software products. 
    • Experience performing Testing activities (Functional, Regression, and Acceptance Testing).

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • Proven ability and experience performing requirements and user needs analysis.
    • Ability to clearly communicate and document analysis and requirements to all team members.
    • Ability to resolve and analyze complex problems and questions on function and usage of products and services.
    • Experience with QA testing of requirements and user stories. Includes Functional, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing.  QA Automation testing experience is a plus.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills for defect resolutions.
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), decision making, human relations, presentation, and organization skills.
    • Effective time and resource management skills with ability to assign, train and monitor work.
    • Prior mentoring and/or leadership role.
    • Thrives in a high energy, fast paced environment.
    • Ability to professionally handle and resolve stressful situations will be required. 
    • Solid foundational understanding of Microsoft Office products, Excel and Word.  SQL and Jira a plus.
    • Working in a Software Development Life Cycle/SCRUM/Agile environment a plus.
