Immediate need for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Shop Manager. The Fleet Maintenance Manager monitors, coordinates and improves the condition,efficiency, safety, and functionality of all company fleet trucks and trailers that make their way into the shop for preventive maintenance, warranty work, or repairs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities for the Fleet Maintenance Manager / Shop Supervisor position include:

• Reinforce and demonstrate a strong commitment to Safety by addressing any unsafe behaviors, auditing for safety compliance, and ensuring all drivers & visitors are safe.

• Accountable for all equipment availability & repair decisions for company owned and driver leased units.

• Regular communication across all business segments to prioritize workflow and maximize equipment availability as operational dynamics fluctuate.

• Directly involved in the Profit & Loss of the location. This includes the approval of all purchases, repairs and managing the accuracy on parts inventory. Understand & manage the tire program requirements.

• Participate in interviewing and selection of the most qualified candidates during the hiring process. Attend local Tech Schools & career fairs to ensure company is presented as an employer of choice.

• Cultivate and maintain productive supplier relationships. This includes managing volume and quality of sublet repairs, performing follow up when needed, and managing the costs associated with sublet work.

• Responsible for regular communication with associates to include sharing the team’s performance metrics, and corporate updates.

• Assist with development of performance goals for the shop as a whole and for individuals. Create and execute action plans associated with those goals.

Requirements for the Fleet Maintenance Manager / Shop Supervisor position include:

• A Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience working as diesel, trailer, equipment and/or heavy equipment technician is required. A Minimum of 4-5 years’ previous experience leading or managing a team in a shop environment is also required.

• College degree and/or trade school / technical training highly desirable.

• Exceptional communication, computer, and organizational skills are required.

• Must possess a current & valid CDL Class A CA driver’s license or willingness to obtain one through the company.

• Mechanical experience that includes or knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics.

• Fleet maintenance management experience in a metric driven environment is essential.

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and report writing.
