  • Responsibilities

    A well-established manufacturer is in immediate need of a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing technical expertise and support of ongoing operations and improvements throughout the manufacturing plant.

    The primary focus of this position will be electrical, hydraulic and control systems. The Maintenance Technician will also assist the department with mechanical and operational issues. This is a hands-on position with extensive interaction with outside production machines.

    Benefits for the Service Tech / Maintenance Technician position include:

    • Starting Wage: $20.00 - $25.00 an hour DOE
    • Winter Schedule: Monday – Sunday 6:00am – 6:00pm, Summer – Monday – Friday 6:00am -4:30pm
    • Full Benefits that include health insurance, paid holidays, 401k and paid time off are offered.
    • This is a "direct-hire" opportunity and not a "contract" or "temp" position.

    Required Skills for the Service Tech / Maintenance Technician position include:

    • Electrical / automation training with 2-years of applicable experience or 2-4 years of applicable experience directly related to manufacturing, electrical maintenance and controls
    • Able to read electrical schematics
    • Able to troubleshoot and repair 480-volt system – motor starter circuits, variable frequency drives, relays, and limit switches etc.
    • Experience with pumps, power supplies, proximity sensors, conveyors, electric motors, gearboxes, & bearings is required.
    • Ability to routinely troubleshoot and repair equipment. Diagnose mechanical failures, electrical problems & PLC control issues
    • The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands for handling objects, computer equipment and peripherals, and bending, reaching, and crouching.
    • This position services equipment outdoors. The work environment can be hot in the summer & cold in the winter.
    • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity

    Desirable Skills for the Service Tech / Maintenance Technician position Include:

    • Previous experience working with manufacturing equipment such as conveyors (pneumatic, screw, belt, vibrating), instrumentation (temperature, flow, weights), motors, fans, extruders, grinders, scales, gear boxes, metal detection and packaging equipment preferred.
    • Previous experience diagnosing machine breakdowns in all types of weather conditions; knowledge of equipment & reference manuals, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and ordering of parts is required.
    • Must have own hand tools.
    • Basic skills with PLC programming id preferred.
    • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
    • A great attendance record is a must.
