A Premier heavy-duty diesel repair shop servicing the Inland Empire area is in need of an experienced trailer mechanic. This is a day-shift “direct-hire” opportunity
The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance and repair of semi-truck reefer trailer units.

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 6:00am – 2:30pm
Excellent Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 an hour DOE to start

Essential Functions of the Trailer Mechanic / Reefer Technician position include:
Inspects, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs all refrigerated containers and genets, as required.
Performs maintenance in accordance with company standards
Completes a safety risk assessment prior all work performed
Diagnoses complex mechanical, refrigerant, and electrical problems related to all Reefer systems (single & multi-temp), including cooling, heating and container computer modules.
Performs repairs and diagnostics on starting and charging systems, complex cooling and re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes. Repairs include performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, rebuilding throttling valves, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front main engine seal replacements.
Perform repair and maintenance on reefer units in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
Must be consistently capable of independently analyzing and safely resolving problems.
Responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs of container refrigeration. Conducts general and non-scheduled maintenance, including inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing components and systems.
Qualifications for the Trailer Mechanic / Reefer Technician position include:
Must have a minimum of 4-5 years trailer mechanic experience. Prefer EPA 608 & 609 certification.
Troubleshoot & repair suspension, brakes, ABS, electrical, & hydraulic issues experience is needed.
Previous welding experience is preferred.
Previous axle alignment experience is a plus
Must own tools and toolbox that correspond with experience.
