    THE ROLE

    XOS is seeking a highly motivated EHS Engineer to lead EHS program implementation, safety standards and training, risk assessment, and incident analysis for our battery manufacturing line. The EHS Engineer will perform work both individually and in cross-functional teams to empower all personnel to drive continuous improvement. The candidate will be responsible for a broad range of work across EHS disciplines with an emphasis placed on safety standard implementation, reducing risk, and ergonomics study.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead implementation and sustainment of EHS programs, systems, and standards
    • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, DOT, EPA, TCEQ and other applicable regulatory agencies
    • Oversee employee EHS engagement and training programs
    • Collaborate with operational teams to complete job hazard analysis, PPE hazard assessments, ergonomic assessments, and implement appropriate policies and procedures to mitigate risks
    • Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards
    • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
    • Support incident management process to determine cause(s), prevention, and corrective measures
    • Track EHS training needs, compliance, and effectiveness
    • Manage the tracking and reporting of EHS metrics and measure performance against Key Performance Indicators to drive strategic and tactical plans
    • Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives
    • Provide oversight of EHS aspects of construction and change project

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 4+ years or more working as an EHS Engineer
    • Competency in controlling critical hazards including Electrical Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy, Mobile Equipment, and Crane-Hoisting / Lifting and all regulatory compliance obligations
    • CSP / ASP, CIH, CPE certifications preferred
    • Manufacturing is a 24/7 operation; must be available to support emergency incident response and work occasional nights and weekends
    • Experience working in high voltage environment preferred
    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
