The Opportunity. We are conducting a search for a less-than-full-time (approximately 20 - 25 hours per week) Administrative Assistant. Working under the direction of the Head of School (HOS), this position provides administrative support for the HOS and school office and is largely responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the school. This is a high-profile role that requires daily, high-quality engagement with all school families and staff and may expand to full-time as the school grows.

Significant areas of responsibility include: greeting visitors and callers; assisting with morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up; setting appointments; creating and maintaining staff and student files; scheduling staff; maintaining attractive public areas as well as organized storage of all school inventory; and assisting with internal compliance audits, daily lunch distribution, the preparation of parent communications, the administration of enrichment programming, and planning, organizing, and executing special events.

• Have earned at least 12 semester credits of post-secondary education in approved child development/early childhood education courses
• Have at least one year of early childhood education teaching experience AND at least one year of school administration experience

• Have valid CPR and first aid certification, or willingness to become CPR- and first aid-trained before your first day of employment
• Are a US citizen or green cardholder

We would prefer you over other candidates if you:

• Have an associates or bachelor's degree
• Have at least two years of early childhood education teaching experience AND at least two years of school administration experience
• Meet Preschool Director qualifications in the state of Texas
• Are familiar with the Montessori method and/or have a genuine interest in and/or appreciation for this educational approach
• Have experience working in high-quality public or private schools
• Have interesting hobbies, skills, and life experiences
