While at MIT, our founders had a vision to overcome high failure rates in drug discovery by combining machine learning with physics-based models and wet-lab experiments into a tight iterative cycle. The solid-state chemistry intern will work directly with the Applications Science team to develop new solid-state chemistry services and expand XtalPi’s client profile into new industries.We are seeking a highly motivated summer intern to join the Applications Science team at XtalPi’s Global BD Center in Boston. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Director of Business Development at XtalPi in Boston. Responsibilities· Help XtalPi expand their solid-state chemistry service profile· Leverage your knowledge and research background to help XtalPi identify new R&D opportunities· Work closely with the internal R&D team and Business Development team to reach new customers and strategic partnersQualifications· Ph.D. in chemisty or related discipline· Research experience in computational or experimental solid-state chemistry · Research experience related to small molecule pharmaceutical/agricultural/nutraceutical compounds, battery materials, or charge transport in organic field effect transistors· Experience in polymorph/salt/cocrystal screening, crystallization techniques (traditional or novel), SSNMR, PXRD, MicroED, SC-XRD· Experience with Machine Learning, Quantum Mechanical methods, or MD simulations as applied to solid-state chemistry· Experience with Crystal Structure Prediction (CSP) or AI-driven/rational materials discovery
