    SUMMARY

    YAES Reconstruction Engineers will use broad design experience to provide investigation, analysis, reports, and testimony relating to civil litigation and/or insurance claims. In this role, Reconstruction Engineers will apply technical knowledge to gather critical information and evidence, perform detailed analyses, and communicate verbal and written results in a manner that gives clarity to clients. Reconstruction Engineers possess hands-on mechanical skills, extensive experience with automobiles, and a high degree of creative problem-solving ability. THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE WITH THE IDEAL CANDIDATE BASED IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.

    ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct field investigations, performing mechanical failure and accident analysis involving various types of motor vehicles.
    • Reconstruct vehicular accidents using engineering analysis and CAD-based tools.
    • Inspect and analyze automotive and mechanical parts to determine the cause of failure.
    • Work independently and/or part of a team, with other engineering disciplines, to determine the root cause of an incident.
    • Perform analyses and conclusion, prepare reports, and present findings to the client and other interested parties.
    • Document and preserve evidence obtained and provide expert testimony in litigation as necessary.
    • Manages resources working on specific projects to ensure work is completed in a timely and professional manner.
    • Generates leads and obtains new work through strong relationships with clients.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    EDUCATION:

    • Master's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.
    • P.E. license required.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 5+ years of experience in vehicular accident reconstruction (VAR) required, specifically in the automotive or commercial vehicle industries considered a plus.
    • Engineering consulting experience preferred.
    • Must have excellent communication skills and strong technical writing skills.
    • Extensive experience in CAD-based programs, Microsoft Office Suite.

    OTHER SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

    • Must be willing to travel with short notice.
    • Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously and be detail orientated.
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to maneuver in, under, and around on-site crash vehicles.
