    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Sr. Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the development and implementation of association-wide practices that support Human Resources Management including employee relations, compliance, full cycle recruitment, investigation, performance management, discipline, and training.

    This position provides planning and management to the development of effective sustainable practices while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future human resources management needs. Will collaborate with all areas of HR and other business stakeholders to improve processes for optimal employee experience.

    SALARY: $50,000 - $60,000

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND COMPLIANCE

    • Coaches and advises leadership in employee relations matters, including the areas of performance improvement, corrective counseling, interpretation of HR policies and procedures; ensuring compliance to local, state and federal regulations and YMCA policy and procedure.
    • Conducts independent investigations on key employee concerns including workplace and sexual harassment, discrimination, ensuring the maintenance of records, reports and logs.
    • Assists branch and program leadership in the implementation of HR programs and projects.

    RECRUITMENT & RETENTION

    • Manages talent acquisition process, including sourcing, testing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding, ensuring measurement of recruitment methods

    • Advises branch and program leadership regarding internal and external recruitment practices.

    • Assist in the development and implementation of strategy to attract, recruit, retain and hire.

    • Develop process to keeps job descriptions up to date, accurate and compliant with relevant federal, state and local laws for all positions.

    • Conducts exit interviews to assist organization in culture management.

      • Develop and administer internal corporate communication programs and campaigns, designed to reinforce the Company's Vision, Values, and Operating Principles.
        • Rewards and recognition

    TRAINING

      • Develops, implements and delivers training of human resources programs for varying levels of individuals within the Association including new employee orientation and training surrounding HR polices, practices and procedures
        • Documents procedures for the human resources department practices.
        • Continually evaluates training and procedures to monitor and analyze effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.

    CONTINUOUS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

      • Develop and implement new approaches, procedure changes and innovative solutions to continually improve efficiency and employee experience. Identify, document and communicate process improvement opportunities.
        • Assist in any special projects that arise (research, create reports, etc.) and other human resources work as required.
        • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
        • Partner with HR leadership in assessing, planning and implementing enhancements to processes and procedures

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    o Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.

    o Three (3) to five (5) year of generalist experience to include employee relations, compliance, corrective counseling, recruitment, performance management, policies and procedure interpretation and investigations.

    o Minimum of three (3) years recruitment experience, preferably in a corporate human resources environment, including internet and social media sourcing,

    PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION(S):

    o Professional Human Resource (PHR) or other recognized HR certification preferred.

    o LinkedIn Recruiter, or Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR), or Certified Diversity Recruiter (CDR), or other AIRS certification preferred.

    o CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    o Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.

    o Excellent time management, customer service, and organizational skills

    o Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite with excellent Excel skills, experience with comparable HRIS system preference for ADP, Kronos, or Ceridian

    Knowledge of state, local, and federal regulations associated with employment

    Have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels of organization, including professionals, senior management, employees and volunteers.

    Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to deliver successful presentations to individuals and/or large groups at all levels of the organization

    Maintain confidentially and respect for all individuals as well as sensitive human resources information in the association

    Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions

    Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporters for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s).
