Mission Yard Associates are responsible for quick, accurate, and safe order fulfillment and customer service. Uses physical labor and a forklift to fulfill orders as instructed on Load-Out order and ensures timely customer service while honoring the company Mission Statement and Core Values principles.
Outcomes Service customers and fulfilling orders in a courteous, accurate, and efficient manner while maintaining a tidy work area.
Key Competencies
Customer Focus: Prioritizes the customer experience first and foremost by ensuring prompt engagement with customers in the yard to determine their needs, ensuring smooth customer flow in and out of the yard, ensuring delivery trucks are promptly loaded for delivery customers, close communication with Sales and Operations department to provide further customer assistance when needed.
Completion of Daily Tasks: Satisfactorily pass a daily evaluation of sections with an average score of 90% or better. Consults with Yard Manager with any potential issues. Completes projects assigned to them in a timely manner as determined by Yard Manager.
Safety: Consistently wears hi-vis clothing, operates equipment as instructed in a careful manner. Does not cause damage to equipment, customer property, or product.
Equipment Inspections: Check over and turn in all Inspection Sheets daily, noting any issues and immediately notifying Yard Manager of major issues that could potentially harm the machine.
Communication: Regularly available by radio, communicative towards peers and staff
Judgement: Prioritizes decisions based on Customers > Inventory > Equipment Inspections > Tasks > Projects
Basic Arithmetic: Excellent ability to communicate in a verbal and written manner with customers and staff. Ability to perform basic math functions with use of a calculator & mental math
Key Requirements
Active forklift certification after receiving training from House of Rocks
Ability to work primarily outdoors
Ability to quickly walk around and climb in/out of equipment several times per day
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds several times per day

Hours House of Rocks is a seasonal business with longer hours during Spring/Summer/Fall and shorter hours during Winter. During Spring/Summer/Fall busy season, Saturday hours and overtime are required. Saturday availability is critical for our retail business and is a condition of employment. Winter can be a relaxed 35-40 hour work schedule with ample time for vacations, Saturday day off rotations, or other time away. You may be assigned to an Opening or Closing Shift. Those shifts are detailed below:

Salary & Benefits
Annual Salary Range: $40,000 – $50,000 with overtime and bonuses

Physical Requirements:
All yard positions require interaction with heavy machinery in a standing or sitting position. Ability to quickly walk around and climb in/out of equipment several times per day is essential. Day to day duties will involve standing for extended periods and may involve frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for several hours per day. Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and humidity levels. Ability to wear protective gear including dust masks, respirators, back braces, eye and ear protection.
