Position: Yard Attendant

Reports To: Branch Manager

Overview: As a Yard Attendant at LSM you will play a key role in maintaining the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the yard and outdoor areas of the company. This position involves handling, storing, and organizing equipment, tools, and supplies. The Yard Attendant ensures equipment is well-maintained and ready for use, while providing support to both customers and staff in an efficient and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean and orderly yard by ensuring all outdoor power equipment is stored correctly and safely.

Assist in organizing the layout of units in the yard, including arranging new deliveries and ensuring proper access for customers and staff.

Pull customer units for pick-up or service, ensuring they are ready for transport in a timely manner.

Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment as needed.

Ensure the showroom is stocked with available units and display models are kept neat and in good condition.

Assist with inventory management and report low stock or discrepancies.

Clean and wash units that come in for repair or service to maintain a professional appearance.

Perform light maintenance on outdoor power equipment as needed, including checking tire pressure, fueling, and ensuring units are ready for customer pickup.

Perform basic yard maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, shoveling, and maintaining the cleanliness of outdoor spaces.

Report any damaged or unsafe equipment and materials to management.

Assist technicians and service staff with moving equipment and preparing items for repair or servicing.

Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Required Skills, Education & Experience:

Ability to operate outdoor power equipment and machinery safely.

Physically capable of moving and handling heavy equipment.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain an organized and clean work area.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience in a similar role or with outdoor equipment is a plus.

Outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Must be able to lift and move equipment of varying sizes and weights.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

This role may require flexibility to work weekends or evenings based on store hours and business needs.
